Kickstarters You Should Know About!

I have a lot of friends doing a lot of cool stuff. One of those friends has a project that is currently on Kickstarter. It is called  Ruin & Conquest  and it is a system-agnostic campaign setting for whatever fantasy RPG you love. Brinton Williams has thrown his heart and soul into this tome and has gathered a whole host of top notch analog artists to bring his vision to gritty black ink on white paper. Go over to Kickstarter and check it out . The funding push will end on Friday October 26th, so don't sleep on it. Also, it looks like his Facebook group could use a boost too, so if you're on Facebook go Like Ruin & Conquest there . I've never met Jason at Thunderchild Miniatures , but we both ran our first Kickstarters simultaneously a few years back and I have been following his work ever since. He is dedicated to his craft, that is for sure. His next Kickstarter launches this weekend, on Saturday October 20th. This time around he is releasing a miniature bo...

Slow Death Games Partner with Corehammer in UK

Yesterday it was officially announced that Slow Death Games is now available exclusively in Europe through Corehammer . Slow Death Games make the game of subcultural warfare, Wild in the Streets . Chris is a good friend, and as many of you know, allowed me the honor of creating the WitS game supplement, Tooth Chipper Fanzine . It should be no surprise to know that Tooth Chipper Fanzine #1 is available in the Corehammer webstore right now. For those of you unfamiliar with Corehammer , Corehammer is a blog run by a crew of folks in the UK who came up on a mix of punk, metal, gaming, and nerd culture, much like myself. A couple of months back I contributed to their Cyberpunk themed week with this nostalgia piece on my first true wargaming love, Necromunda . If any of that sounds interesting to you - click on some links. -Nick nick@breakerpressgames.com

Three New Releases for April 2018

At AdeptiCon we debuted three new releases and they are available on the Breaker Press webstore now! Broken Contract The Day-to-Day Starter Box This Starter Box is a revised and reimagined version of last year's starter box. The box we brought out to the world through Kickstarter last year contained a lot of stuff, but in retrospect may have been a touch overwhelming to new players. The focus then was on creating a sandbox for players who wanted to create their own characters and crews, but it was too much stuff to make a smooth introduction. The Day-to-Day Starter Box seeks to resolve that by adding our Introductory Episode Book, The Day-to-Day and keeping the cards and models strictly to those on the sample crew rosters included in the book. The three scenarios are meant to guide the players through progressively more involved Acts, composing a mini-campaign called an Episode.  The Day-to-Day Starter Box is the perfect introduction to the miniature game, ...

Building a Punk Venue for WitS Pt. 1

Chris from Slow Death Games/Wild in the Streets isn't going to be able to make it to AdeptiCon this year so the Breaker Press Games booth is going to be running Wild in the Streets demos in addition to our yearly introduction to Broken Contract . This means that I'm going to need suitable scenery to use for demo purposes, as well as for photos used in Tooth Chipper Fanzine . With that in mind, I looked around the internet in search of buildings that fit my vision of the hip neighborhoods I've frequented around the country as my old bands toured. Everywhere I looked, the modern buildings I was most drawn to were all from the TT Combat City Scenics line. I looked at their entire range, and even though their old theatre, comic book store, and music shop all seemed like automatic selections, I needed to get the most bang and flexibility for my buck, so I ordered their Take Away set online, which is meant to be a stripmall with 3 restaurants in it. Eagerly, I waited f...

Breaker Press Games 2018

The full art from The Day-to-Day cover. We're one week into 2018 and it's time to reflect on the last year and to look forward into the future. Last year, in January, we launched a Kickstarter to release the Broken Contract Rulebook along with a bunch of play aids ( Equipment Cards, Ability Cards, Character Dashboards, etc.) The Kickstarter was successful and we walked into AdeptiCon 2017 with the new rulebook and limited edition boxed games. A few months later we released the new Adam Walker model, and all of the Kickstarter rewards began shipping. Hal and I dove straight into writing and playtesting. We hammered on content week after week through the summer, and then autumn hit and things slowed down. He was focusing on his degree and I was teaching myself Adobe InDesign while simultaneously laying out the first Broken Contract Episode Book . The year wrapped up with us just commissioning a couple of new pieces of art from Filip Dudek and a couple of sculpts from ...
