Hathor Landing

Hathor Landing art by Filip Dudek Hathor Originally called P237123, Hathor was claimed and surveyed in 2251AD by the Interstellar Science and Exploration Corporation (ISEC). Early analysis of the planet determined that the world was teaming with metal and mineral resources, had a similar gravity to Earth, and held an oxygen rich atmosphere that would be suitable for affordable terraforming. In 2260AD ISEC put P237123 up for bidding and FerrumSky acquired ownership. Newly named as Hathor, FeSky hired Terra Artisans to make it more suitable for colonization. In 2285AD, FerrumSky built its first micro-dome settlement, Hathor Landing, and hired on numerous corporations to provide necessary services they were not set up to provide themselves. Within months Hathor Landing was bustling with activity as first wave colonists were brought in by FerrumSky, AgriCorp, Silica Shield, Armed Security, and others. The first iron ore was mined, and refining and manufacturing were set up. The f...
Breaker Childern - Art by Filip Dudek The Children of FerrumSky  Childbirth is strictly manipulated by the corporations. A spike in births can devastate the supplies on the colony ships or within the colonies themselves, or at least that is the statement continuously fed to the Tracted. Those who wish to bring new life into the world have two options. One is to increase their workload in order to pay for the additional resources needed to provide even the most basic provisions to the child. The other is to enter the Gen-Mod program. The child will be given up to the orphanages at birth, but a couple can bring new life into the world at limited expense to themselves. The children raised by their families are put to work as soon as they are able to lift or carry objects. During feeding times the children bring buckets of food and water to the work sites, and more children carry the buckets of waste away. When a child is old enough to swing a pick or sift rocks, they will often be...

New Breaker Leader Concept Art

Art by Filip Dudek We've been holding back on the next Kickstarter while we cache some new assets to work with, both in the way of sculpts and art. Money is most often the thing that slows down progress, but artist, sculptor, and even my own availability can all affect progress. While we've been accumulating those assets, Hal, Aaron, and I have had talks about what we want to be the focus of the next Kickstarter, and we came to the conclusion that filling out the range of the Breakers is a good starting point, and depending on how that goes, we'll do the same with Black Squadron, and the other factions that are present in the mines: the Knife Syndicate and FerrumSky Loyalists. Art by Filip Dudek How do we determine what is missing from the range? After careful consideration, we want the range for each Faction to include a multi-part male and female model for each of: Child, Teen, Adult, Leader, and Gen-Mod. Additionally, each range would benefit from about 5 easy ...

Breaker Press Games 2018

The full art from The Day-to-Day cover. We're one week into 2018 and it's time to reflect on the last year and to look forward into the future. Last year, in January, we launched a Kickstarter to release the Broken Contract Rulebook along with a bunch of play aids ( Equipment Cards, Ability Cards, Character Dashboards, etc.) The Kickstarter was successful and we walked into AdeptiCon 2017 with the new rulebook and limited edition boxed games. A few months later we released the new Adam Walker model, and all of the Kickstarter rewards began shipping. Hal and I dove straight into writing and playtesting. We hammered on content week after week through the summer, and then autumn hit and things slowed down. He was focusing on his degree and I was teaching myself Adobe InDesign while simultaneously laying out the first Broken Contract Episode Book . The year wrapped up with us just commissioning a couple of new pieces of art from Filip Dudek and a couple of sculpts from ...

Assembling the Cast - Ash Walker

Ash Walker is collaboration between myself, Kickstarter Backer: Adam Walck, editor Robert Ferrick, and artist Filip Dudek.  This Character was created as part of the "Welcome to 2303AD!" Pledge level and will be getting a model in the near future. I am humbled that Adam thought this project was cool enough that he wanted to become an actual part of it. -Nick Officer Ash Walker When Ash Walker contracted with Black Squadron Security he was hoping for work that offered a level of excitement and freedom. It was only by chance that he was accepted into their security program. He was in peak physical condition, demonstrated a sense of leadership and authority in his aptitude and psychological testing, and he knew all the right jargon to test well, masking his strong sense of individualism. Hathor is not Officer Walker’s first assignment, and Orin Settlement is not his first posting on Hathor. He has proven to be a thorn in the side of every security crew he’s been assigned to...

Preparing for AdeptiCon

Look for this banner at AdeptiCon! I missed my Wednesday blog post because I was sick all week. I may not have been able to muster the strength to work on scenery, but a lot of stuff has been happening behind the scenes. One of the biggest things to transpire recently is the addition of freelance artist, Filip Dudek , onto the project. If you are familiar with the post-apocalyptic RPG, Across the Dead Earth , you'll already know his work. We've been looking for someone to do atmospheric pieces for the rule book and I saw that he might be looking for work so I got in touch. He dove straight in and started producing fantastic work that really captures the feel of the setting and we couldn't be happier to have him on board. The above piece of art is the proof Sam Alcarez sent over adding his latest logo design. This will be our 3'x5' banner marking our territory at AdeptiCon . Here's a better view of the art itself: Filip's work is stunning and h...
