XIV. Assembling the Cast - Marius Bickler

Marius Bickler concept art by Geng Gendall.
Bickler was once a Prod himself, watching over the Tracted in the agri-domes. He ignored his officer training and befriended some of the workers. Over time he started to recognize the dehumanizing manner in which they were treated and that he was responsible for it as well. One day, one of the workers he joked with fell from exhaustion and another Prod beat them to force them back up. Marius intervened. A fight ensued and he seriously injured the other Prod. He was cited with everything from damaging company property to inciting a riot. AgriCorp sold his contract to FerrumSky where he has been working hard and keeping mostly to himself. The other miner's perception of Bickler ranges from open distrust to silent admiration. Bickler carries his past transgressions against workin' folk with deep regret, and like the others on Kollis' crew, he yearns to be free.

November 5: New Breaker Miniature Range Kickstarter!

In less than a week we will be running our next Kickstarter. This one is to fund the manufacture and expansion of our Breaker range of miniatures. If you've been following Breaker Press for a while, you've probably seen images of some of these sculpts appear over the last year and a half (yes, the gears grind slowly at Breaker Press). It is finally time to send them to the caster, but we need your help. Female Breaker Gen-Mod. We are starting things off with the two Gen-Mods that we've been sitting on for quite some time. These will be the basis for the Kickstarter campaign. The campaign is going to start small - we just need to raise enough money to cast and ship these two models. Male Breaker Gen-Mod. If the campaign goes well, the Stretch Goals will be determined by you, the community. The first Survey went up and the first Stretch Goal will be for the female Breaker Crew Leader. Female Breaker Crew Leader. Hopefully, we can work our way through all...

I Wanna Be Your Dog: Canines in DCC

Last year I started a Dungeon Crawl Classics group with my friends. For those that don't know, Dungeon Crawl Classics is meant to be D&D like it is 1975, and touts the catch phrase, "Deadliest Game Alive". During Character Creation one of the characters in our 0-level funnel came up as a herder with a herding dog. The dog, Fetch, has outlived their herder master, and became a beloved Character in a very lethal game. Not surprisingly, the players pushed for Fetch to have the ability to advance. Here is the first draft of the rules if you are interested in my take on Canine Player Characters in DCC. I Wanna Be Your Dog Canines in Dungeon Crawl Classics by Nick Baran Art by Nerdgore You’re running a 0-Level Funnel for a group of players who are all dog people. One of the Characters comes up as a Herder with a Herding Dog, and before you know it, the dog is the most cherished member of the party. Treasure be damned, as long as the dog survives!
