In City Industrial Shipping Container Review

At AdeptiCon I picked up a bunch of MDF kits from Death Ray Designs . One of the items they didn't have on hand by the time I got to their booth was the In City Industrial Shipping Container , so I ordered some when I got home from the big event. As you can see in big bold words in the pic above, this is the Shipping Container 4-Pack . Now these have been out for a while. I knew I had seen these originally on Ash Barker's Guerrilla Miniature Games Youtube channel, and I didn't realize the video dated back to April 2016 until just now. Still, I linked it because you can see a bunch of other stuff from their In City range. The cleaner look is pretty Infinity , but heavily weather any of those kits, and you can insert them into Broken Contract . One of the things that jumped out at me as I started assembling these Shipping Containers is that they are roughly the same size as the wall sections I build for the FerrumSky Mines . My usual wall sections are 2" wid

Three New Releases for April 2018

At AdeptiCon we debuted three new releases and they are available on the Breaker Press webstore now! Broken Contract The Day-to-Day Starter Box This Starter Box is a revised and reimagined version of last year's starter box. The box we brought out to the world through Kickstarter last year contained a lot of stuff, but in retrospect may have been a touch overwhelming to new players. The focus then was on creating a sandbox for players who wanted to create their own characters and crews, but it was too much stuff to make a smooth introduction. The Day-to-Day Starter Box seeks to resolve that by adding our Introductory Episode Book, The Day-to-Day and keeping the cards and models strictly to those on the sample crew rosters included in the book. The three scenarios are meant to guide the players through progressively more involved Acts, composing a mini-campaign called an Episode.  The Day-to-Day Starter Box is the perfect introduction to the miniature game,

New Breaker Leader Concept Art

Art by Filip Dudek We've been holding back on the next Kickstarter while we cache some new assets to work with, both in the way of sculpts and art. Money is most often the thing that slows down progress, but artist, sculptor, and even my own availability can all affect progress. While we've been accumulating those assets, Hal, Aaron, and I have had talks about what we want to be the focus of the next Kickstarter, and we came to the conclusion that filling out the range of the Breakers is a good starting point, and depending on how that goes, we'll do the same with Black Squadron, and the other factions that are present in the mines: the Knife Syndicate and FerrumSky Loyalists. Art by Filip Dudek How do we determine what is missing from the range? After careful consideration, we want the range for each Faction to include a multi-part male and female model for each of: Child, Teen, Adult, Leader, and Gen-Mod. Additionally, each range would benefit from about 5 easy

Rust Pointe Dumpster Review

I came back from AdeptiCon with a bunch of stuff. I acquired the vehicles for Wreck-Age that my partner and I backed on Kickstarter. I picked up a few Aetherium miniature sets to use for my own Broken Contract games set in the FerrumSky Mines, as well as for playtesting a future BC expansion. Finally, I came back with a bunch of scenery kits from Death Ray Designs . The first project I chose to dive into when I got home was the Rust Pointe Dumpster from Death Ray Designs . I bought three of them and I have them all in various stages of completion. I don't generally do reviews, but I was so impressed with this little kit, that I wanted to talk about it. As you can see in the photo above, it's just a rectangular dumpster, and a tiny kit at that. The immediate thing I want to note is that it comes with assembly instructions. A bunch of other MDF kits I own have no instructions, which was fine for the simpler ones. The last building I built though, had a bunch of succe
